Market Participates in Bike Month

Bike Week has grown into Bike Month: Toronto's Festival for Cycling Culture, as the City celebrates cycling in all its forms.
CYCLISTS' BREAKFAST May 26, 2008, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Nathan Phillips Square
The ST. LAWRENCE MARKET is sponsoring a free hot breakfast featuring fair-trade organic coffee, pancakes, syrup, fruit, croissants and more, for participants in the 19th annual Group Commute into the downtown core.
TASTES OF THE MARKET May 28 - June 6, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Market Street
People that bike to the Market on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday will enjoy the "Tastes of the Market": free samples of coffees, drinks and munchies, while supplies last. Samples located along Market Street (west side of the South Market).
ST. LAWRENCE MARKET CRITERIUM BIKE RACE May 30, 2008, 6 to 10 p.m.
This 950-meter course is designed for high-speed racing, sure to provide excitement for spectators and racers alike. Riders will reach speeds in excess of 60 km/h as they fly through closed city streets. For more information contact 416-392-7592.

Chronicling over a century of the garment industry, this exhibit of photographs, vintage clothing and old sewing machines explores a wide variety of issues such as immigrant opportunities, working conditions, union activity as well as individual stories of those who worked in this industry.
